Employers Actively Hiring at Muskingum County Job Fair

 
Wednesday, November 12, at the Muskingum County Welcome Center you can attend the Muskingum County job fair where about 30 employers who are actively hiring will be gathered.

From 2:00p.m.-6:00p.m. any local person who wants to work for a Muskingum County business is encouraged to stop by the welcome center where a variety of businesses will be represented. Tom Poorman, President of the Zanesville Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce, told us about the vast list of employers.

"There are entry level jobs, there are jobs working in logistics and distribution , jobs in manufacturing, and places like Plaskolite, oil field service jobs such as Halliburton, and health care, quite a few health care jobs that are being offered," said Poorman. "There are management level positions, entry level, it’s really a wide variety."

With the unemployment rate here in Zanesville slightly higher than the state average it’s become increasingly important for Muskingum county businesses to continue to be successful.

According to Poorman, ”Our objective in hosting this event, we of course want to match employers up with an employee, and we want to provide a service to the existing employers in the community.’

The best way to ensure that you walk out of the job fair with good prospects is to come in with an interview mindset, and that means being prepared. 

"They want to come prepared with a resume of some kind. They want to come prepared to fill out applications, they want to come prepared, dressed professionally, they want to be able to speak to these people who are hiring, because some of them will conduct quick interviews on the spot. So they want to be ready," said Poorman.
