Erickson Discusses New Book, “A Pose Before Dying”

Zanesville, OH- Yoga turns deadly in the latest book offering by local author Alex Erickson.

Erickson is the author of a series of books called the “Bookstore Café Mystery.” In this new page turner, “A Pose Before Dying” Erickson starts a new series, A Cat Yoga Mystery. It’s about Ashley Branson, who opens a cat yoga studio where you can find your Zen while adoptable felines roam about, that is until the studio turns into a crime scene.

“I wanted something, I don’t want to say young and hip, but the previous series was a bookstore café which is a very quiet sort of location. I wanted something modern, fad like and it just seemed like a good thing,” explained Erickson.

Erickson said those that pay close attention may pick up on some of the locations including a mesh of Zanesville, Somerset and Athens. If you like the first book, you could be seeing more of Branson’s character in the future. He already has plans for at least two more Cat Yoga Studio Mysteries. He said waiting for feedback can cause some anxiety.

“It’s very nerve wracking still. What if they don’t like it? That insecurity because writing a book is very solitary,” said Erickson. “It’s always internal. You’re always by yourself and then you hand it to someone for the first time and it could be terrible. I have no idea.”

If you’d like to pick up a ” A Pose Before Dying” you can find it at Barnes and Noble and Amazon. If you are a fan of the previous series Bookstore Café Mystery, expect more on those in the future as well.
