Erma Vivian Paul (August 26, 1922 – December 11, 2009)

Erma Vivian Paul, 87 formerly of Newark Road, Zanesville, passed away at 3:00 PM Friday, December 11, 2009 at The Willow Haven Care Center. She was born Saturday, August 26, 1922 in Zanesville, daughter of Thomas Adams and Flora Fisher Adams. Erma married John (Jack) Paul in January 1938 and was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She was a lifetime Zanesville resident & homemaker. Erma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and was a secretary for the family business the former ZC & W Transportation.

Erma is survived by three sons: Tom ( Pat) Paul and Jim (Debbie Blake) Paul both of Zanesville and Gerald (Dolly) Paul of Newark; eight grandchildren: Annette (Randy) Brown, Kim Paul, Jeff (Jane) Paul and John (Jody) Paul all of Zanesville; Lynda (Dick) Roe of Newark, Tim Paul of St. Louisville, Randy (Belinda) Paul of Gahanna, and Christy (Scott) Paul-Kamien of Orlando, FL; sixteen great grandchildren: Jennifer, Janessa, Wyatt & Michelle Paul, Ashley Brown & Julie Hampshire all of Zanesville, Brandon & Jeremy Paul of Gahanna, Jennifer (Scott)Roffey of Columbus, Bryan & Jaclyn Forest, Makayla & Jacob Roe of Newark, Jana (TJ) McLaughlin of Jacksonville, NC, and Cassandra & Carson Kamien of Orlando, FL; two step great-grandchildren: Kelsi & Matthew Paul of Zanesville; six great-great grandchildren; one brother: Gary (Marilyn) Adams of Zanesville & several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Erma was preceded in death by her husband: John F. Paul who died July 4, 1997; three brothers: Harrison Adams, Dallas Adams & Gale Adams; one sister: Bernice Wilcox; three sister-in-laws: Mary Adams, Jean Adams & Ginger Adams; and one brother-in-law: Raymond Wilcox.

Friends may call 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday, December 14, 2009 at The Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home where a Christian Vigil will be held at 3:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Tuesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church with Fr. Jordan Turano, O.P. as celebrant. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park.
