Eugenia “Jean” Buckley

Jean Buckley

ZANESVILLE Eugenia “Jean” Buckley 91 returned to her husband and family on Friday September 23, 2016 at Primrose Retirement Community.

Jean was born on September 8, 1925 in St. Louis , Missouri to the late Walter and Eugenia Cole Brien.

Jean met her husband Bob on a blind date while he was stationed in St. Louis by the Navy in WWII. They moved to Ohio and built a business, L.A. Emmert INC, traveled the world and made and enjoyed many friends. Jean enjoyed playing cards, line dancing, exercise class, shopping, and was an accomplished artist. She loved football, especially Ohio State Buckeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who passed on her wisdom through words and actions. She never gave up. She stood up for herself and kept her sense of humor. Jean understood in the 1950’s how important it would be for women to be strong, get a good education, and be able to take care of themselves.   She instilled that in her daughters and grandchildren. She was a special lady and will be missed.

She is survived by two daughters, Darlene Kerr of Germantown, Maryland and Donna (Ed) Middaugh of Zanesville, five grandchildren, Michael (Katie) Kerr of Washington,DC, Tina (Justin) Staples of Linden, Virginia, Jennifer Middaugh of Florence, South Carolina, Jessica Middaugh of Portland, Oregon, and Joyce Middaugh of Columbus, Ohio, five great-grandchildren, Natasha, Luke, Dean,Charles, and Aloysius, and one sister Delores Whitehead.
