Evert Lee Severt, 88 of Crooksville, died, Thursday, November 8, 2018, at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born Sunday, March 23, 1930, in Ash County, NC, the son of Edward B. Severt and Ollie (Miller) Severt. He married the love of this life, Jean (Holmes) Severt on May 22, 1950.

 

Evert worked as a supervisor in many area potteries in the Roseville, Crooksville and Cambridge areas. He later purchased his own business, Severt Auto Wrecking which he operated until his retirement. Evert was a very hard working man, always working tirelessly to support his wife and nine children. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather who was so very proud of his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

 

Evert is survived by eight children: Nancy (Bob) Miller of Freeport, Barbara (Bill) Lawrence of Canal Winchester, Roger (Barbara) Severt of Stockport, Sherry (Steve) Emory of Crooksville, Marie (Bill) Dickerson of Shreve, Jenifer Severt of Cambridge, Darlene (Butch) Gardner of Crooksville and Malia Severt of Crooksville; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 

In addition to his parents, Evert was preceded in death by his wife: Jean on September 25, 1992 and one son: Dannie Severt.

 

Friends may call from 3:00 to 6:00 PM, Monday, November 12, 2018, at the Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at the funeral home with Pastor Len Martin officiating. Evert will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife: Jean in Rose Hill Cemetery in Roseville.
