ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Hundreds of locals gathered at Faith United Methodist Church this afternoon for their annual Community Festival.

The Community Festival is a long time tradition at Faith United Methodist Church and features a variety of activities every year including an iconic tasty treat all for the price of a voluntary donation.

“We have our Community Festival every year towards the end of August and we make homemade ice cream, gallons and gallons and gallons of homemade ice cream, and we serve a hot meal along with it and we have a car show, we have games for kids, face paintings, air brushing, all kinds of exciting things that happen.” said Pastor, Joy Wigal.

Wigal also said the event is a big undertaking and usually takes the majority of the year to plan for.

“This has probably been in the planning ever since we finished last year. As soon as it was over we went through what we did, what needed to be done better, what we could change, what we couldn’t change, what really worked well and began our planning right up until probably Sunday morning for this Saturday event.”

Proceeds from the event will go towards Faith United Methodist Church’s Ministries in the community.
