Farmers Market: Cherry Orchards

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Fall has finally arrived, and so has the fall produce.

This week at the Zanesville Farmers Market Cherry Orchards was selling their pears, plums, and apples. Co-owner Fayebelle Cherry said they also now have fresh pressed apple cider, one of their most popular fall treats.

“The apple cider is actually made from a government-approved cider press that we have to travel an hour to, to get it approved by the government standards, but we take our own apples and it’s pressed with our own apples, and we bring it back home,” said Cherry.

Cherry said that while apples and apple cider are their most popular products right now, they also have pumpkins, mums, and grapes at the orchard and that people can even come and pick their own.

“I mean we sell pumpkins and mums and things but apples are probably our…and apple cider is what they come to the orchard mostly for,” said Cherry. “We do have pick your own on apples at the orchard, a lot of families come for that, and also pick your own on the grapes.”

Cherry said they will have more apple varieties through the month of October as well. She said the orchard is located right on the Muskingum and Morgan County line where State Route 555 intercepts 669.
