Farmer’s Market Featuring Fall Goodies
The Zanesville Farmer’s Market now has all of your fall favorites.
As the winter months near, and growing season comes to a close, it’s your last chance to get your hands on those organic greens and fresh produce. The Zanesville Farmer’s Market will be open through the month of October. Local farmer, Kristen Baughman, said she’s excited to finally feature her fresh arugula.
“Plus I have lots of winter squashes, like butternut squash, spaghetti squash, tons of pumpkins and gourds, sweet potatoes, so a lot of the fall items, I still have a few dwindling tomatoes, peppers, stuff like that, so there’s a lot of selection, it’s a good time of the year to come out to the market,” Baughman said.
Although conditions haven’t been prime for farming, Baughman said the cold and wet weather isn’t slowing her down. She told us she hopes to have spinach, radishes and lettuce in the coming weeks.
“It was so dry, so now I have enough rain to hopefully plump up the radishes, and I’ll have nice radishes the last couple weeks of the market, so I can’t complain too much about the rain because it was so dry,” Baughman said.
The Zanesville Farmer’s Market will be open until October 31, at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds.
