Fatal Accident in Coshocton County

A woman is dead following an accident Saturday evening in Coshocton County.

The Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office says they received a 911 call just before 6:00 p.m. in reference to a one vehicle accident with injuries on County Road 5. The accident occurred near the intersection of SR 93 on County Road 5 in Lafayette Township.

The driver of the vehicle was traveling south on County Road 5 when he lost control and struck a tree. Both the driver and his passenger were transported by Coshocton County EMS to Coshocton County Memorial Hospital. The male driver was later flown by Med-flight to Grant Medical Center. The female passenger was pronounced deceased at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital.

The names of the victims have not been released pending notification of the family. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this accident.

Assisting at the scene were Coshocton County EMS, West Lafayette Fire Department, Coshocton County REACT, and Prince’s Wrecker. The accident remains under investigation by the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office.
