Fatal accident in Coshocton County

COSHOCTON COUNTY—The Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two vehicle accident that claimed the life of a Coshocton man.

It happened just before 3:00 p.m Monday, August 24, on State Route 16 just west of State Route 83 South, in Jackson Township. 

Authorities said a white Suzuki SUV being driven by 48-year-old Pamela D. Marion of Stockport, Ohio had went left of center and struck a green 1993 Ford Ranger being operated by 50-year-old Robert C. Jacobs of Coshocton who was heading east on State Route 16 .

The Sheriff’s Office reports that both drivers were pinned inside their vehicles and had to be extricated.

Authorities said Jacobs was pronounced deceased at the scene . Investigators said he was not wearing a seatbelt.

Authorities said Marion was transported to Genesis Hospital in Zanesville and is in stable condition at this time. 

The cause of this accident remains under investigation.
