Fatal Accident in Fairfield County
Lancaster, Ohio – The Lancaster Post of the State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal one vehicle accident.
The accident happened Tuesday around 3:10 A.M. on SR 37 near SR 204.
The Patrol reports that a 2013 GMC Terrain, operated by Derrick Davis, 32, of Lancaster, was traveling north on SR 37 near SR 204 and went off the right side of the road.
The vehicle struck a ditch and an embankment, then rolled over.
Authorities said Davis was not wearing his safety belt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Patrol said impairment is suspected to be a factor in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
