Fatal Accident in Fairfield County

Lancaster- The Lancaster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving a vehicle and motorcycle.

It happened Thursday, July 25, shortly after 10:00 PM,on State Route 158 and Rainbow Drive, in Greenfield Township in Fairfield County.

Authorities said Craig Berstler, 54, of Baltimore was operating a 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle driving northbound on State Route 158. Joshua Krannitz, 24, of Lancaster was operating a 2018 Ford Fusion driving eastbound on Rainbow Drive.

Troopers said Krannitz proceeded to drive through the intersection of Rainbow Drive and State Route 158 when  Berstler’s motorcycle struck Krannitz’s vehicle.

Berstler was transported to Fairfield Medical Center via EMS where he was pronounced deceased.  Krannitz was treated at scene for minor injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.
