Fatal Accident in Muskingum County

ZANESVILLE, Ohio–The Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol is investigating a Wednesday morning crash that claimed the life of a Zanesville woman and her son.

According to Patrol Sgt. Jeff Jirles, the crash happened  just after 6:00 am on Raiders Road in Cass Township.

Authorities said 30-year-old Joshua McManes and his 53-year-old mother Teresa Dillon were travelling westbound on Raiders Road, drove left of center, off the left side of the roadway striking a tree.

Sgt. Jirles said the car landed in a flooded area well off the roadway partially submerging the 2003 Honda Accord in flood waters.

The crash remains under investigation.
