Fatal Accident in Perry Co.

Perry Co. –  A Perry County man was killed in an accident Sunday afternoon.

It took place just before 5pm on Palomino Road in Reading Township. The State Highway Patrol said 74-year-old Alan Mowery, of Somerset, was traveling south on the roadway when he failed to negotiate a curve. Mowery’s vehicle traveled off the left side of the road, striking a tree and catching fire.

Authorities said Mowery wasn’t wearing a safety belt and was trapped inside the vehicle. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash is still under investigation.
