Fatal Accident in Perry County

New Lexington – The Lancaster Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash in Perry County.

The accident happened on Wednesday, April 10, shortly after 6:00 a.m. on State Route 37 near Melon Hill Road in Pike Township.

According to the State Highway Patrol,  Ronald Boggs, 22 of Stockport, OH, was driving a 2006 Toyota Corolla westbound on State Route 37.  Joshua Lawrence, 43 of Union Furnace, OH, was driving a 2018 GMC truck eastbound on State Route 37 and was pulling a trailer loaded with three passenger vehicles.

Authorities said  Boggs traveled left of center and struck Lawrence head-on.   Boggs was transported to Genesis Perry County Medical Center but did not survive his injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the New Lexington Fire Department, New Lexington Emergency Medical Services, Crooksville Fire Department, Crooksville Emergency Medical Services and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
