Fatal crash in Perry County

Somerset, OH- On August 19, 2026, at approximately 3:47 PM, the Ohio State Highway Patrol Lancaster Post responded to a two-vehicle crash that occurred on State Route 13 near State Route 757 in Reading Township, Perry County.

Through the investigation, it was determined that a 2024 Freightliner Cascadia driven by Erhan Icyer, 42, of Chicago Illinois was traveling northbound on State Route 13. A 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by AJ T. Roberts, 19, of Crooksville was traveling southbound when he traveled left of the centerline and struck the Freightliner. Mr. Roberts was pronounced deceased at the scene. Mr. Icyer suffered minor injuries and refused EMS transport at the scene.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Perry County Sheriff’s Office, the Ohio Department of Transportation, A&L Towing, Eitel’s Towing, Perry County Coroner’s Office, as well as Somerset and Reading Township Fire and EMS.

The crash remains under investigation.
