Fatal Crash on Interstate 70

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, OH- A three-vehicle collision on Interstate 70 claimed the life of a Zanesville man Tuesday evening, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 5:48 p.m. on December 9, 2025. Investigators say 45-year-old Todd McVicker of Zanesville was driving a 2022 Toyota Highlander westbound when his vehicle crossed the median and struck an eastbound 2017 Kenworth T680 operated by 35-year-old Habtom Teweldebrhan of Blacklick.

A third vehicle, a 2011 Chevrolet Aveo driven by 30-year-old Christian Vicich of Pleasant City, was also traveling eastbound and was hit by debris from the initial collision.

McVicker was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.

Responding agencies included Washington Township Fire and EMS, Zanesville Fire, Perry Township EMS, Pappy’s Towing, Y-City Towing, the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office, and the Ohio Department of Transportation.
