Fatal Crash on US 22 in Muskingum County

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, OH – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that claimed the life of a Zanesville man.
According to the Patrol on Wednesday morning around 10, 81-year-old Roger Myers was traveling Eastbound on US 22 when his vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a mailbox, metal wagon wheels and a tree stump before coming to a stop.
Myers was transported to Genesis Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Assisting on the scene was the Washington Township Fire, EMS as well as the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash remains under investigation.
