Fatal Crash on US 33
A three vehicle fatal crash is under investigation by the Lancaster Post of the State Highway Patrol.
Sunday, November 1 around 7:45pm 73-year-old Kenneth Boggs of Pickerington was traveling south on Allen Road when he failed to yield at a stop sign when he pulled onto US 33.
Boggs was struck in the left side by a Honda Pilot, traveling west on US 33, driven by 58-year-old Johnnie Hillyer of Columbus. Hillyer’s car was then struck by a Chevrolet Blazer driven by 19-year-old Dillon Drake of Columbus.
The patrol said Boggs died as a result of the crash. He was not wearing his seatbelt.
Hillyer and his passenger 37-year-old Kelly Hillyer of Columbus sustained non life threatening injuries and were taken to Grant Medical Center. Two juveniles also sustained non life threatening injures and was taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
Drake was not injured and was wearing his seatbelt.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor and the crash remains under investigation at this time.
