Fatal Hit-Skip Accident in Muskingum County
Falls Township- The State Highway Patrol is searching for a driver that left the scene of a fatal accident Monday evening in Muskingum County.
It took place around 6:30pm on US 40. The State Patrol said 71-year-old Gary Frey, of Zanesville, was traveling east on a motorcycle when he was struck by a pick-up truck, traveling west on US 40. Authorities said the pick-up failed to yield while making a left turn onto Whites Road. The driver of the pick-up fled the scene.
Frey was taken to Genesis Hospital and later pronounced deceased by the Muskingum County Coroner.
The pick-up is described as being a light colored silver Chevy 3500 4-door with a black utility bed. If anyone has information on the vehicle or the accident they’re asked to call the Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol at (740) 453-0541.
