Fatal House Fire in Chandlersville

Chandlersville, OH-  One person lost their life in a Christmas Eve house fire in Chandlersville.

It took place around 11:30pm Tuesday at 5410 McDonald Road.

Duncan Falls Fire Chief Don Alexander said when they arrived the single story home was fully engulfed and on the ground. The coroner’s office was called to the scene and the State Fire Marshal is investigating.

Chief Alexander said the family told officials the fire could have been caused by a space heater, but that won’t be confirmed until the investigation is complete.

Duncan Falls was assisted by Perry Township, South Zanesville and Harrison Township Fire Departments.

A dog also perished in the fire.

Chief Alexander said they cleared the scene around 6:30am on Wednesday.
