Fatal Linden Avenue Accident Investigated

The Zanesville Police Department is investigating a fatal accident.

It happened Wednesday night just before 11:00 on Linden Avenue and involved a pedestrian.

Chief Tony Coury says a vehicle struck 62-year-old Michael Bowles, of Zanesville, near the Smiling Goat bar at 1335 Linden Avenue.

The Chief says Bowles died from his injuries at Genesis HealthCare.

Coury says the driver of the vehicle involved in the accident is only being identified as a 17-year-old boy.

Police are working with the Highway Patrol to determine how the accident happened.

The incident remains under investigation.
