Fatal UTV Crash in Muskingum County

Zanesville, OH -The Zanesville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal UTV accident.

The accident happened around 1:00 pm Sunday on Ridgeview Road in Blue Rock Township.

Authorities said 22-year-old Sean Troyer of Sugarcreek, Ohio was operating a 2022 Polaris Ranger east on Ridgeview Road when he failed to negotiate a curve and travelled off the right side of the road, struck an embankment, and overturned.

The Patrol said Troyer was pronounced deceased at the scene. A passenger sustained minor injuries and was transported to Genesis Hospital for treatment.

Authorities said a lack of safety belt usage is suspected to be a factor.

The crash remains under investigation.
