Federal Recovery Act Funds Headed to Licking County
Officials announced Friday nearly 25 million dollars in Federal Recovery Act Funds for transit improvements in Ohio. More than a half million dollars is headed to Licking County.
The Licking County Transit Board is receiving $216,355 . The funds will be used to purchase three buses, communication and security equipment , and bicycle racks for buses. The money will also be used for resurfacing the bus storage area and parking lot.
The City of Newark is receiving $394.392. The funds will be used to purchase four buses, computer equipment and software and operating assistance.
The grants are among 881 totaling $7.5 billion the Federal Transit Administration has awarded since President Obama signed the Recovery Act in February of 2009
