Festival of Trees is Asking for Entries

 The Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for its annual Festival of Trees.

The community event is a fundraiser for the chamber. Tom Poorman, President of the Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce said that this event helps the chamber provide business and economic development programs to the community.

"The festival is about 200 entries, decorated trees, wreaths, stockings, all kinds of items and we set those up in the 1st week of December, we will open to the public and then on December 5, we will auction everything off. That’s how we will raise the money," said Poorman.

Currently the chamber is asking for people, companies and organizations to submit entries for the festival, even though Christmas is fairly far away.

"We auction on the last day, so it will be Friday, December. 5. We spend all day live on WHIZ Radio [AM 1240] and we auction these things off live here at the welcome center."
