Festival Turnout Good Despite Rain

Zanesville’s St. Nicholas Festival will end at midnight, and despite the rain over the past couple of days, volunteers Betsey Skrobot and Bill Kohler says turnout has been great.

“Surprisingly, it’s helped us. The weather broke right when we had key times. So, it rained probably around five o’clock, and it would clear up. We had nice weather on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Then Friday night was a phenomenal night. Last night was the best night we had since 2005, ” says Kohler.

The festival started on Wednesday night.

Skrobot says the great food and entertainment have been a big draw.

“Lot of good opportunities for friends to hang out, which is really what the festival’s all about, ” says Skrobot.

While the festival is coming to an end, clean up is just beginning.

“We always love to have volunteers. The more volunteers, the better. Our goal is to try to get everything put away tomorrow by noon, ” says Kohler.

Kohler says if you’d like to help, clean-up crews are planning to start at eight tomorrow morning.
