Fieldhouse Director To Hold Walk For St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
Beautiful weather is in the forecast and on Saturday, April 18, you have the chance to get outside and walk for a wonderful cause.
‘Walk with a Twist’ has been going on for 4 years now. Not only does this event take place here in Zanesville, but also on a National level as well. Jim Fraunfelter, Chairman for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s Walk told us more about how it works.
“We wanted something unique. We have folks from California to Kansas to Chicago, Zanesville and nursing homes.”
The event will take place at Fair Oaks Baptist Church at 10AM. Fraunfelter told us his motivation behind holding the event came after the death of his brother who died of Sarcoma. Fraunfelter told us more about the importance of holding these types of events.
“A lot of folks in this area, and I’ve been here all of my 59 years of life–there’s a lot of cancer, there seems to be, in this area. So everybody can associate to that. Even if you just want to come down and walk and you don’t want to donate anything, the opportunities there just to let people know that cancer is a major problem, not only in Zanesville Ohio but the United States and the world.”
Fraunfelter hopes to raise $3,500 to send to St. Jude’s. 100% of your donations tomorrow will go toward helping children during their battle with cancer. If you miss tomorrows walk, you can still donate to the hospital for up to two weeks after the event. You can also send your donations directly to St. Jude’s in Memphis Tennessee.
