The Fieldhouse Expands their Property
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A local fitness center was given the opportunity to expand their program further with the purchase of more property.
The Fieldhouse Family Sports and Wellness Center has been in business for about 30 years and throughout that time they’ve expanded, but now it’s going to a new level with a recent purchase. Owner Mick Amicone said they’ve added additional buildings, a second outdoor field, and indoor field space throughout the last 30 years. Now with this new purchase they’ve gained more property.
“We had about 50,000 square feet when we started out almost 30 years ago,” Amicone said. “Then all of a sudden now we’re adding an additional 13,000 square feet with these three properties. So it takes us to 115,000 square feet, which is pretty significant from an indoor standpoint.”
Amicone said this expansion allows The Fieldhouse to have a lot of amenities for families and it takes the whole campus to almost ten acres after only starting off with about two and a half acres.
“It gives us an opportunity to do everything that we would like to do on a not so nice day indoors in all of the buildings, and then have an opportunity to use almost ten acres outdoors on a beautiful day like today,” Amicone said. “As you see people combining their indoor fitness opportunities and taking it outside and doing the same opportunities.”
Amicone said The Fieldhouse plans to keep expanding opportunities for members, non-members, and all of Muskingum County with programs and a free workout area outside.
“So for the future the next generation that takes over after us is already inline with that same mentality,” Amicone said. “Our mission will continue with providing for not just individuals, and not just the intense athletes, but for general fun and fitness for families.”
The purchase included two buildings The Fieldhouse was already leasing, a third building not previously leased, and real estate for parking and addition to the fitness trail.
