Final Election Preparations

The November General Election is Tuesday and area boards of election are making final preparations.

Today poll workers filed in to pick up their supplies while several people walked in to vote early. Director of the Muskingum County Board of Elections, Chris Hamill explains Tuesday’s process.

"Polls will open at 6:30 a.mm, and they will close at 7:30 p.m," said Hamill. "Anybody who does not know where they are registered, if they are registered to vote they can contact our office. We can check to see if they are registered. If you don’t know where you’re voting location is you can call us and we can tell you where your voting location is."

But you won’t have to wait too long after the polls close for the first wave of results. Hamill said she plans on having the early votes posted between 7:45 and 8 o’clock.

"The absentee results will be uploaded and you should see the absentees at approximately 7:45 tomorrow night," said Hamill. "If you’re watching WHIZ we will have those posted on the web and WHIZ will also be posting those, and then about every half hour afterwards we will be posting. So there should be three postings on our website."

It’s not too late to change your address to vote in this election. Hamill encourages people needing an address change to go to the board of elections tomorrow. We will provide all the election results on TV, our radio stations and right here on our website.
