Finishing October strong and starting November stronger at the Animal Shelter Society

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Animal Shelter Society in Zanesville is finishing October strong and starting November stronger. The first update from the shelter is that celebrations for the 25th anniversary for We Lov Pets is still in full swing. In honor of the pet supply stores big birthday, the animal shelter is offering reduced adoption costs on cats.
“So our felines, we have over 100 here in our care. So we’re going to be $25 and of course that includes fully being vetted. Vaccines up to their appropriate age, spayed and neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea and tick, so on and so forth. So, you know, it’s a good deal,” said April Gibson, executive director at the Animal Shelter Society. “We don’t make any money on cats. The biggest contribution we do for the community is making sure that they are fully vetted and they can’t reproduce as we have this over population. And so that’s our biggest part that we can do for our community is making sure we get these cats out and healthy.”
Gibson says the next major highlight for the Animal Shelter Society is a major fundraiser coming up on Nov. 3.
“One of the biggest things I’ve been pumped about all year, and my staff, they smile about it. So does the board of directors, is Disco Infurno. It’s our innagural. It’s happening Monday Nov. 3. It’s at the Lind Arena. They have been amazing for us Letting us come in and pretty much go over their facility and providing so many things for us at no cost,” Gibson said. “It’s going to be truly epic. You know there is a bet going on in Muskingum County if I’m going to show up on skates or not. I don’t know. We’re going to have to check that out.”
Disco Infurno is $15 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under with $2 skate rentals. and thanks to Park National Bank, veterans can take part for free.
