Fire Crews Respond to Zanesville Fairfield Inn
Fire crews responded to the Fairfield Inn at 725 Zane Street Wednesday evening.
The hotel was evacuated after reports of smoke coming from the roof of the building. Once our crew arrived, flames could be seen coming from the attic on the west side of the building.
Firefighters from Zanesville along with mutual aid from Falls Township, Washington Township, and other first responders responded to the hotel around 5:30 p.m.
Zanesville Fire Chief Eric Waltemire says the fire was contained to the attic and was extinguished within about an hour. Â Crews remained on scene afterward to ensure the fire didn’t rekindle.
Waltemire says no injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
