Fire at Italian Eatery

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- A small fire occurred at the Italian Eatery on Maple in Zanesville around noon on May 14th.

Assistant Fire Chief, Doug Hobson said an exterior corner of the building caught fire, which lead to smoke leaking into the building. He said the fire is believed to be an accident and was already out by the time Z.F.D. arrived.

“They were torching the weeds around the building and accidentally caught the outside of the building on fire. Just the damage to the exterior of the building and a little bit of smoke inside. We ventilated the building, cleaned it all out,” said Hobson.

Hobson said there were no injuries. Italian Eastery has since reopened.
