Fire Leaves 4 Adults 3 Children Homeless

 At 10:40 Wednesday morning Frazeyburg Fire Department was dispatched to  8970 Blackrun Rd. Living in the home was Georgia Shortridge with her daughter, son and his wife and three children. The home suffered major damage.

" We got here and the house was starting to burn. We got 5 other fire departments on the way" John Singleton, Frazeyburg Fire Department.

Officials say everyone managed to get out of the home safely. It is undetermined how the fire started. Fighting fires in the winter continues to be difficult.

"We haven’t had any problem with the water, but we had to watch for frostbite. People just getting cold, slip-fall injuries, making ice with the water so we just have to be careful with that."

The family was given money from the Red Cross for food and clothing. They have insurance and will stay with friends and relatives.
