First Candidate files for Zanesville 2nd Ward

Jan Bradshaw filed her petition late Tuesday to run for Zanesville city council’s second ward.

Bradshaw is the first person to file her petition for the ward. This is the first time that she is running for public office. Currently, Bradshaw works at Starlight Industries. Previously she spent 20 years working at Longaberger. She said she has dedicated her life to serving and helping people.

“Everything I’ve done has been service oriented and based with dealing with public and helping other people,” Bradshaw. “So I think that is pretty much where my life is leading me.”

She’s been a lifelong resident of the second ward and said she wants to see something good happen there. Bradshaw is already working on that goal by being a part of the Citizens Committee for Blight for lower and middle income which helps to distribute grant money to help revive neighborhoods. Now she wants to take that service to city council.

“I’ve lived in my neighborhood all my life, and I just wanted to see something good happen there. So for the betterment for my neighborhood as well as for the rest of Zanesville I thought I’d try and see what I can do.”

The filing deadline for the May 5th primary is Wednesday at 4 p.m.
