First Church of God Eggstravaganza spreads Easter joy

ZANESVILLE, OH- First Church of God in Zanesville held their annual Eggstravaganza today, bringing joy and excitement to families from around the community.
The grounds of the First Church of God transformed into a colorful playground, with over 12,000 Easter eggs scattered around. Even the rain couldn’t dampen the spirits of those who attended.
“This is our fifth year for having the Eggstravaganza here at the Zanesville First Church, and this is the first year that mother nature has not cooperated with us very well, but the attendance looks like it is not going to be effected whatsoever, and we’re very excited about that, that even though a little bit of rain is falling, people still want to come out to enjoy,” said the First Church of God Pastor, Jim Childers.
Before the egg hunt began everyone was invited inside for a special reading of the Easter Story. Immediately following the egg hunt guest were able to enjoy a warm lunch.
“Seeing how we outreach to the community, it’s just a joy to see all these people come because it doesn’t matter so much what we do inside these walls on Sunday morning, it’s what happens when we leave here, we have a sign in the church that says, ‘Enter to Worship, Leave to Serve,’ and that is what we hope we are doing,” said the Pastor’s Wife, Pam Childers.
The annual Eggstravaganza at the Zanesville First Church of God was a success, rain or shine. For more information on future events or church services please visit the Zanesville First Church of God Facebook page.
