First Friday Art Walk

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Every First Friday of each month, downtown Zanesville businesses extend their hours and showcase local artists in their stores and this Friday is no different.

Gemini Eclectic Emporium on 7th Street is one of several businesses participating in the Art Walk.

“Gemini focuses on artisan goods from all around the world and made in the USA as well. And we’re really proud of what we have here locally. Over 200 artist are represented downtown and here in Gemini’s we have about 25 and counting. So we’re really proud about the local work that happens here. And we’re anxious to showcase it,” said Gemini Eclectic Emporium Owner James Campsie.

This downtown business wants to see downtown Zanesville thrive.

“I think it’s vital for business to continue to support downtown. I’ve been in town for 5 years. The momentum is real. People have their ideas of what downtown is. But I can tell you that we had maybe 40 artists down here 5 years ago. And now there’s that many galleries we have representing artists. So the momentum is real. We just need to keep going on with it. Everybody just needs to put their arms around the wonderful artists that we have here and be proud,” said Campsie.

The First Friday Art Walk starts at 5 p.m.
