Flash Looking for a Home

This week’s pet of the week lives up to his name.
Flash is an energetic puppy who is just about a year old. He originally called the Dog Pound home and now resides at the Animal Shelter Society.
He’s good with people, other dogs and cats. But, the family that adopts this terrier mix is going to need to keep up with his youthful energy.
“He’s probably a 50-60 pound dog, young, strong, excitable so he could pull you down if you’re not paying attention,” said Animal Shelter Executive Director Jody Muray. “So someone who doesn’t have any disabilities or anything that’s going to make it a danger to them.”
Murray said since Flash is a puppy expect to spend a few week of fairly intense time training and teaching him what’s expected. Murray said it’s important to keep him on a leash at first and be consistent with training.
“I think most dogs want to please their owners and if you’re consistent with them with positive rewards or letting them know what’s not acceptable, most dogs yes. I think if you spend that first 3 to 4 weeks making a real commitment that will give you a good start,” said Murray.
Flash is ready to be adopted into your home. His adoption fee is $125 plus the dog license fee.
