Flo Marie Dennis Martin

FRAZEYSBURG
Flo Marie Dennis Martin 83, of Frazeysburg went home to be with the Lord on Thursday January 21, 2021 at Genesis Hospital.
Flo was born in Zanesville on August 19, 1937 to the late James O. and Ruth Ryan Dennis. She was a 1955 Graduate of Zanesville High School and a 1958 Graduate of Christ Hospital School of Nursing in Cincinnati. She taught Red Cross Swimming in which for her outstanding leadership she received a scholarship to Indiana. Flo had a love for her family, in her early married life while raising her children she helped her husband Thomas with The Martin Funeral Home in Rutland, Ohio. After moving to Frazeysburg she became a registered nurse at Good Samaritan Medical Center until her retirement in 1989. Her love for God was overflowing, she devoted 18 years as the statistician to the Muskingum County Hunger Network, helped with many food pantry’s( specifically the Open Food pantry in Frazeysburg she founded with her husband in 1983) , was an elder in her church, served on United Way Board, and Meigs County Tuberculosis Board from 1960-1970. Flo and her late husband Thomas had a love for youth and helped many troubled teens over the years by bringing them in to their home and teaching them Christian Values.
She is survived by four children: Tamela (Rick) Larr, Abby (Scott) Fox, Timothy Martin, and Eric (Jennifer) Martin, a sister Jane Leahy, Nine grandchildren: Marcus Larr, Thomas Fox, Ryan Larr, Taylor Bennington, Taran Martin, Victoria Reed, Claire Martin, Kate Martin, and Jack Martin, 15 Great Grand-grandchildren: Webster Williams, Joshua Williams, Ella Williams, Trennon Martin, Lindsey Heitman, Weston Fox, Ella Fox, Jerimiah Larr, Peighton Larr, Oliver Larr, Henry Martin, Carter Reed, Aubie Fox, Harper Martin, and Logan Bennington, and several nieces and nephews..
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Martin on September 7, 2003, two brothers: Robert R. Dennis and James W. Dennis, and a sister Carol A. Schmidt.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Christ Table or to the food pantry of your choice.
