Following Her Father’s Footsteps

Twenty-one-year-old Amelia Vincent is following in her father’s footsteps and not in a way you might think of.

Amelia has been helping her dad, Steve Vincent, with the annual July 4th fireworks ever since she can remember.

And now, it’s her turn to call the shots.

“She has been a critic of mine for years, if I make a mistake, she’s the first one to point it out,” said Steve Vincent. “Tomorrow night she gets to prove herself.”

“I don’t think I had a choice in the beginning, it was like, “You’re going to help clean up,'” said Ameila Vincent. “Eventually I got bored watching and said let me do something more exciting, so I decided to shoot and just loved the adrenaline rush.”

While Amelia’s father will be taking care of the fireworks show at Zane Landing Park, Amelia will do her own show at the Zanesville Country Club. She says she couldn’t be more excited.

“There’s nothing more exciting than knowing something you lit is exploding so high up in the air,” she said. “You feel it shoot right past your face. Nothing can explain it.”

Both sets of fireworks will start a dusk at about 9:45 p.m. on Saturday.
