ZANESVILLE, Ohio-“Foot by Foot 2” On the Winding Road from A to Z will be hosting a competitive art show.

100 artists from Athens to Zanesville will receive 12 by 12 gesso board to create works in any medium. The theme is people, places, or things in Athens, Hocking, Morgan, Muskingum or Perry counties. The unsigned numbered boards are then to be brought to the Weasel Boy Brewing Party Room on Friday, June 10th, to be viewed publicly on Saturday, June 11th from noon until 5 p.m.

“The effort the is being made now to brand our area just as Hocking Hills has branded,” said Appalachian Hills of Ohio Territory director David Mitzel. “But we’re branded as the winding road a to z, Athens to Zanesville. We need to bring tourists in . Why do tourist come to areas? Because of art. Because of other food. because of other outdoor activities. This is what the winding road branding effort is about.”

Provost of Columbus College of Arts and Design Kevin Conlon will serve as the judge.

“He will come in that morning and see 100 pieces. And then announce that evening at 7 o’clock that winners of the prizes. Which are $500, $250, and $100,” said Mitzel.

This event is free and open to the public. Food and beverages are available.
