Former Philo Soccer Coach Matt Brown Passes Away

Philo Middle School teacher and former varsity soccer coach Matt Brown passed away Sunday after a battle with throat cancer.

Brown served 10 seasons as Philo’s head coach and was named MVL Coach of the Year in 2014.

Philo Athletic Director Pete Woods was quoted saying, "Just his overall demeanor, how he treated people and how he treated his fellow co-workers. He was just a generally good person that worked very hard, had a passion for kids and had a passion to make someone’s day a little bit brighter than what it was."
