Former School Bus Driver Charged In Rail Crossing Incident
A former Zanesville City Schools bus driver is now facing charges in connection with a near collision between her bus and a train.
Zanesville Police Detective Sergeant Ric Roush says 41-year-old Christina Wisecarver of Zanesville is facing one count of driving across a grade crossing.
Roush says on February 16th around 4:00 pm police received a report of a near collision between a school bus and a train at the rail crossing near the intersection of Woodlawn Avenue and Pershing Road.
Five students were on the bus at the time, but no injuries were reported.
Roush says after an investigation by police and the Zanesville City Schools Wisecarver has been charged.
Zanesville City School Officials told WHIZ News that the bus driver was fired as a result of the incident.
Wisecarver is scheduled to appear in Zanesville Municipal Court on Wednesday March 15th at 9:00 am.
