Frazeysburg Puts on Annual Homecoming Parade

The Village of Frazeysburg put on their annual Homecoming parade this weekend.

Held on Saturday, the event, which draws hundreds from across the area raises money for the Frazeysburg Volunteer Fire Department. And while the Village may be very small, it’s fan base each year never seems to let up.

"For as long as I can remember. The very first time I actually remember being here though I think I was about 5 and I’m 18 now so 13 years," said parade attendee Liz Shumaker.

Shumaker says over the years, a lot has changed for the parade and even in today’s sluggish economy, there is still overwhelming support for the fire department.

"I remember when it just used to be a couple floats and then the fire department when I was really little. They started adding more floats, more baseball teams come in, this year the high school did their marching bank and their cheerleaders, every year it seems to get a little bit bigger," said Shumaker.

Following the parade, a small festival was held featuring a dj, food, fun, games, and rides.
