Frederick “Fred” Wickham
Frederick (Fred) Wickham, 88, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 14th, 2025, he was cared for by his two loving daughters and a compassionate hospice team, with loving family by his side.
He was born on November 18th, 1936, in Dexter City, Ohio, to the late Judy Cox and Edward Wickham. He was a dedicated father and a friend to many. He retired from the Zanesville State Nursery after many years, where he was known for his strong work ethic and easy-going nature, this earned him respect and many lifelong friendships. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and took great pride intending to his garden and caring for his yard. His love for animals was evident to all who knew him, especially through the affection he showed his dogs and goats. Later in life, he enjoyed giving his time to the local senior center. He looked forward to visiting, lending a helping hand, playing Wii bowling, and sharing laughter with the many friends he made there.
He is survived by his special companion of 14 years, Rosemary Hoadley; two daughters, Sandy (Randy) Talbert and Tammy (Dan) Johnson, both of Zanesville; Jason McConnell, a family member he lovingly helped raise; his brother, Clifford Wickham; numerous nieces and nephews; and eight grandchildren: Chad (Sue) Tetak, Matt (Bridget) Tetak, Bruce (Melissa) Tetak, Stephan Willey, Ryan Willey, Katrina (Jordan) Homan, Bradley Carroll, and Brooke (Michael) Culley. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his loving daughter, Pam Carroll; his parents, Judy Cox and Edward Wickham; his stepfather, Forest (Coxy) Cox; his sister, Shane Taylor; two brothers, Rodger and Larry Wickham; and Nancy (Wickham) Divers, the loving mother of his children.
Visitation will be held at Burrell Funeral Services, 414 LaSalle St. Zanesville Ohio 43701 on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 11am until 1pm with funeral services starting at 1pm. Cremation will follow. BURRELL FUNERAL SERVICES is serving the family.
