Fredrick Robison

Fredrick G. “Fred” Robison, 89, of Crooksville, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2025, at Majestic Care of New Lexington. Born on Christmas Eve, 1935 in Crooksville, to the late James and Orlena (Hicks) Robison, Fred’s life was a testament to the joy and warmth with which he lived every day. With a strong work ethic and commitment, Fred built a career of service and dedication. He worked for Peabody Coal Mine for almost 2 decades, leaving a mark of integrity and hard work. Later, he found a second home working at Dunn Trucking until his retirement in 1996. Fred’s sense of community extended beyond his life at work as he was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge 591 F & AM, where he fostered lifelong friendships and upheld the values of brotherhood and charity. Fred’s legacy is carried on by his devoted wife of 49 years, Veronica (June) Robison, who stood by his side in love and partnership. Their blended family, a tapestry woven with love and shared experiences, includes his children, Vicki Price, Becky Hutchins, Debra Goodwin, Dreama Basaldua, Frederick (Debbie) Robison Jr., stepchildren Melvin Lee Hutmire III, and Scott Hutmire; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom loved him dearly. His life was also shaped by the love and memories he shared with his siblings, Carol Eppley and Judy Wentz, who survive him. Fred’s brothers, Walter Robison and James “Addy” Robison, and sister, Marlene Barker, passed before him, as did his cherished son, Max E. Robison, and daughter, Barbara L. Davis. Fred’s interests were that of a man who cherished life’s everyday joys. An avid NASCAR fan, he enjoyed cheering on his favorite drivers, from Bill Elliott in earlier years to Chase Elliott more recently. Fred also loved dancing, an activity that brought him a smile and a chance to connect with others. One of Fred’s favorite pastimes was having coffee and sharing conversations with his daughter, Becky. Those moments, filled with laughter and reflection, were among the treasures of his daily life. Fred also leaves behind his faithful fur companion, Dexter, who provided him with unconditional love and comfort in his later years.
