Freezing Rain — Stay Home Don’t Drive

 Zanesvlile Mayor Jeff Tilton is asking area residents to stay home for a while today due to freezing rain.  

The Mayor says there have been a rash of accidents — some serious — that have already occurred.

 Tilton says crews are applying salt to the road but it is not working due to the air temperature,

 The Muskingum County Emergency Management Agency is asking all county residents to stay home because all of the roads are ice covered.

Sheriff Matt Lutz has issued a level 3 snow emergency which means all roadways are closed to non-emergency personnel. No one else should be out during these conditions unless it is absolutely necessary to travel or a personal emergency exists. All employees should contact their employer to see if they should report to work. Those traveling on the roads may subject themselves to arrest.
