ZANESVILLE, OH – The Friends of the Library are getting ready for a night full of good food for a good cause.

On Wednesday July 8th from 3PM until close at Texas Roadhouse, 10% from every bill will go towards the Friends of the Library.

Beverly Bell, the Friends of the Library Vice President at the John McIntire Library, says these funds will help to pay for programs being brought into the Library.

“The Friends of the Library are a group of community members, they range from teachers to ditch diggers, depends on what their occupation is, but we have a passion for the library.” Bell said. “We try and do fundraisers that will accumulate some monies for programs that the Library puts on for the community, free most of them, to the community.”

Bell says she finds so much joy in the programs that come to the Library, especially the ones for the young readers just beginning their learning journeys.

She says she also likes the variety and that some programs are meant for those of all ages to come and experience.

Also if you haven’t gotten down to the John McIntire since the grand reopening, the Friends of the Library Bookstore has a new location for people to come and check out.

“The Friends of the Library opened up our bookstore again, it was already here, but we’ve relocated!” Bell said. “We’re upstairs now and the book store was opened in May, at our grand opening of John McIntire, and it is open to everybody that wants to come in. There are costs for the books but it’s certainly less costly than at the bookstore because they’re used books, used DVD’s.”

If you are interested in becoming a Friend of the Library or for more information about upcoming events you can head to their Facebook page or the Library’s website.
