ZANESVILLE, Ohio – From Canadian brass ensembles to New York ballet, the Secrest Auditorium is seeing a wide variety of performances take the stage.

The Zanesville Concert Association presents the New York Theatre Ballet this Sunday where they will perform three ballets as part of their tour titled “The Magic of Dance.” The concert is $45 for adults but children, highschoolers, and college students with student ID’s can get in for free.

“…and this is a troupe that makes ballet accessible to anybody. So if you’re a seasoned ballet lover, come and watch them, but if you’ve never been to a ballet before, this will be enjoyable,” said Pam Kirst, the president of the Zanesville Concert Association.

A membership for $85 grants access to the rest of the performances hosted by the Zanesville Concert Association this season and in Mt. Vernon. The money helps the 86 year old organization continue to bring performances to the Secrest Auditorium with a diverse variety of acts.

“One of the things we try to do is provide a ballet every three years for our local people. Many people take dance lessons here. Shortly they’ll be doing the nutcracker at Secrest and so we have a lot of people that would like to see the real professionals. And unfortunately, the pandemic really held us back. That caused some cancellations. So, we’re so happy to be back with that, providing that,” said Jim McLaughlin, a Zanesville Concert Association board member.

The performance is Sunday Nov. 9 starting at 3 p.m. and the doors open at 2:30 p.m. The next show in this seasons line-up is Peking Acrobats in February. You can find tickets and more information on the Zanesville Concert Association’s website.
