ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Community theater is an artform that allows participants to expand their perceptions of culture, storytelling and psychology.

The Renner Theater will be presenting their adaptation of Disney’s Frozen Jr. later this month with performances split between two casts.

Laney Gebhart, who will be performing as Elsa with the Snow Cast, shared how she will be filling multiple roles within the Snow Cast’s performances.

“Well, since I’m not in the show as Elsa all the time, I play also in the Snow Chorus. I’m one of the dancers and I’m a townsperson. So our role is really at that point, to make the leads look very good. I think that this show is going to be very good so everyone should hurry up and get their tickets so we can have a full house,” Gebhart said.

Alaina Roberts, who will be performing as Elsa in the Ice Cast, explained how their version of Frozen Jr. may vary from what people expect and how stage performances are a one-off occurrence.

“There are some added songs from the Broadway musical in this show, such as Dangerous To Dream, A Little Bit Of You and Let the Sun Shine On,” Roberts said. “With theater, everything is right there before your eyes and it’s live and in-person and every night is different. And you get… If you go different nights, you get a different experience each night. And it’s beautiful, it’s magical and it’s just a treasure.”

The Renner Theater is located at 148 North Seventh Street and tickets can be purchased at the door with the risk of being sold out or can be purchased online. For specific show dates you can visit therenner.org.
