Gant House Ready for Chili Fest

As the air outside begins to cool down, volunteers from the Nelson T. Gant Foundation are stirring up some chili for a good cause.

One of the organization’s largest fundraisers of the year, the chili fest remains a fan favorite in the community. Saturday’s festivities begin at 11 a.m. at the Gant House on Main Street in Zanesville.

The public is invited to come out for a hot, chili meal with dessert and drink for only six dollars. Secretary Michael Jackson says aside from from enjoying a hot meal, the fest is a great chance to gather with friends and catch up.

“It’s a fundraiser, but it’s also a community gathering event where people who live in this small town, the only time we seem to get together is at Donald’s Donuts or funerals, but here we can see people we haven’t seen for a while,” Jackson said.

All proceeds from the event benefit the foundation and its community programs. Again, the chili fest is Saturday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Gant House on Main Street.
